Enhanced Reporting

My business is outgrowing my accounting software.
What can I do?

An Enhanced Reporting sales dashboard: revenue, margin and customers cross-filtered on one screen

Keep the accounting system. Put a reporting layer on top of it that joins the rest of the business: sales lines, inventory, receivables, payroll, field service. That is Enhanced Reporting: custom dashboards we build in your own environment, and the clips below show them moving.

Start smaller if you like. The same team runs Self-Serve: one trial balance a month, live in minutes, no call.

You'll know it's time

The books are fine. The questions have outgrown them.

Accounting software is built to record what happened and produce a fixed set of reports. Growth brings questions it was never built to answer.

?

The answer takes a spreadsheet

Someone asks which customer, which product, which month. The accounting system has the total. The answer is an export and an afternoon.

⊞

The number lives in three systems

Sales sit in the CRM, stock in the warehouse system, cash in the books. Nobody sees all three on one screen, so the month-end pack is where they first meet.

≡

The report you need doesn't exist

Gross profit per unit. Days on hand by category. Past due by sales rep. Your system ships a fixed menu of reports, and the one you need is never on it.

Two ways in

Start with Self-Serve. Grow into Enhanced Reporting.

Same team, same numbers. Most companies start with Self-Serve and add Enhanced Reporting when the questions get deeper. Some skip straight to Enhanced Reporting.

Both are the real product. Nothing you load on the web is wasted: the groupings and the history come with you into Enhanced Reporting.

Enhanced Reporting

Questions the accounting system can't answer. One click each.

Fictional demo data from an industrial distributor: 8,412 sales lines, 139 products, 62 customers. Every figure in the model is computed from the source files, never typed in; the mechanics are exactly what your build gets.

Beyond the web

When the web dashboard isn't enough

Self-Serve turns one trial balance a month into your dashboards. When the questions get deeper, which customer, which product, which month, we build the model behind it: your sales lines, your products, your customers, cross-filtered with a click. Same numbers. Deeper questions.

Receivables

Who owes you money? Ask it five ways.

Receivables by customer, by sales rep, by aging bucket, by risk. Swap the measure from open AR to past due to cash collected, click a bucket and the detail follows.

Inventory

Which inventory is about to run out?

Inventory value, days on hand, turns, stockouts and reorder points, all from one model. Finance and operations looking at the same numbers.

Your own metrics

Your measures. Your metrics. Built your way.

Gross profit per unit isn't on the report? Tell us the number you need, and it is on every visual. A dashboard you look at, versus a model built around how you run the business.

How an Enhanced Reporting build runs

Finance people scoping with finance people. No translating your close process for someone who has never run one.

Step 1

Free data evaluation

Send the exports you already run. We tell you straight what a model would give you, and whether the web dashboards get you there first.

Step 2

Scope and price

Scope the pages, the sources and the measures with a finance person, not a project manager. You get a fixed price in writing before any work starts. See pricing.

Step 3

Build, in your environment

We build the model and the pages, set the refresh, and hand you the keys. New number later? Tell us what you need, and it is on every visual, usually within the week.

Before you ask

The questions that come next

Do I have to leave QuickBooks, Sage or NetSuite?
No. The model reads from the system you have and the files it already exports. If you change systems later, the model and every report on it survive the move: the analytics layer is yours, not the vendor's.
Didn't Microsoft retire the QuickBooks connector for Power BI?
Yes, in August 2025, with no replacement from Microsoft. Rebuilding that pipeline is part of the engagement, with no third-party connector left to break.
Do I need Power BI licenses?
Enhanced Reporting runs on Power BI in your own Microsoft 365 environment, and licenses come from Microsoft, per user. The evaluation tells you how many people need one. For most growing companies it is a handful of seats, not the whole company.
Who owns the model?
You do. It lives in your environment, on your data, on your refresh schedule. Nothing sits on our servers, and there is no lock-in: if we part ways, the model keeps working.
Can I start smaller?
Yes. Self-Serve takes one trial balance a month and gives you thirteen views in about two minutes, no call, no install. Most companies start there and bring us in for Enhanced Reporting when the answer stops living in one system. Load your data free.
What does it cost?
Enhanced Reporting is a one-time custom build in your own environment, which you own, priced in writing before any work starts. No system implementation and no IT resources needed; Power BI itself runs on Microsoft, which may involve a one-time setup by your IT team. Every build starts with a free data evaluation so the scope is agreed before you commit. Self-Serve on the web is a monthly subscription. See full pricing.
